I’m Nephi Sicajan, a graphic designer driven by a focus on typography and visual systems. I design work that connects people through print and digital experiences.

4.1Background

I'm a graphic designer and photographer based in Los Angeles, California.

I recently earned a BA in Art, with an emphasis in Graphic Design, from San Diego State University. There I focused on exhibition design, editorial design, environmental graphics, and visual communication systems.

Before that, I worked in commercial print production — preparing press-ready files, large-format graphics, and marketing materials across print and digital. It taught me prepress, production workflows, and quality control, and it sharpened how I see typography.

I'm also the founder of Sic Studios ↗.

  1. 01

    Story first

I create visual experiences that connect people to stories, places, and culture. Every project starts with research, then storytelling, then production.

  2. 02

Type as a record of place

I document the visual language of neighborhoods — how lettering reflects local identity, and how the past still shapes what streets look like today.

  3. 03

    Things you can hold

I still believe in the power of something you can hold. Grids, type, texture — the details that make a page feel intentional.

  4. 04

    Built with community

Some of my favorite work holds space for other voices: community archives, collaborative books, and identities made for the people they serve.
